Move Over Meow, New “Tail” of Pet Rescue in La Crosse News | August 1, 2025 | 0 | by Morgan McCarthy It wasn’t furry with four paws and a soft meow, this pet rescue had crews reaching for a different kind of pet. The “tail” began in La Crosse when first responders came to the rescue of a pet iguana. The La Crosse Fire Department reports the animal and its owner were catching some sun outside when the human fell asleep and the iguana climbed 45 feet up into a tree. Firefighters brought in an aerial leader and were able to bring the lizard down to safety.
