On July 28, 2025 at 1732hr, the Eau Claire Fire Department (ECFD) was requested by the Eau Claire Police Department (ECPD) to assist in identifying an object reported in the water near the Riverview Boat Landing. A fisherman had called 911, stating they believed a pickup truck was submerged at the location.
ECFD crews responded to the scene and utilized sonar equipment to confirm the presence of a vehicle underwater. The ECFD Dive Team was deployed and located a pickup truck just in front of the landing. The vehicle was confirmed to be unoccupied.
ECFD divers assisted A to Z Towing in the salvage and recovery operations. ECPD is currently working to identify the owner of the vehicle.
