On Sunday July 27th, at approximately 2156 hrs. the Eau Claire Fire Department responded to 634 Franklin St for a reported structure fire.
The first arriving unit found a working fire around a generator in the backyard of a residential home. Flames from the fire were close to igniting an exterior wall but quick action by additional arriving units extinguished the fire before it spread inside. One occupant and pet dog were able to evacuate prior to ECFD’s arrival. Light smoke was ventilated from the first floor and the occupant was able to remain in the home. The fire is under investigation
No injuries have been reported at the time of this report. ECFD was assisted by the EC communication center, ECPD and Xcel Engergy.
