Suspect Pleads Not Guilty in Officer Shooting, Killing

The man accused of shooting and killing one Milwaukee police officer and injuring another is pleading not guilty.

Suspect Tremaine Jones entered his plea for charges of first-degree intentional homicide and attempted homicide in court today.  The Milwaukee Police Department says officers Kendall Corder and Christopher McCray responded to reports of a person with a weapon on June 26 when the suspect ambushed them.  Both were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds, and Corder succumbed to his injuries several days later.  McCray is recovering.  Jones will be back in court early next month.
