Sofas for Service, a nonprofit dedicated to helping Veterans in need furnish their homes with dignity, has grown significantly since its founding in 2014. The new warehouse represents an exciting step forward in the organization’s ability to collect, organize, and distribute essential furniture to Veterans transitioning into safe and stable housing. Sofas for Service is a nonprofit service organization that provides and delivers furniture and home furnishings from bedding to kitchen wares, electronics, and small appliances for free to Veterans in Wisconsin and Minnesota within a two-hour radius of Eau Claire. Sofas for Service accepts donations of new and gently used items and monetary donations. Visit their website to learn more,
Visitors to the open house will have the opportunity to:
- Tour the new warehouse facility
- Meet the dedicated volunteers behind the scenes
- Learn the story of how Sofas for Service began and continues to grow
- Enjoy complimentary hamburgers, hotdogs, and refreshments (while supply lasts)
At approximately 12:00 PM, there will be a check presentation from the Rotary Minnesota Veterans to Sofas for Service. We will also officially cut the ribbon for its new location alongside with Caring Transitions of the Chippewa Valley, who recently moved into the adjoining warehouse space.
“We’re excited to welcome the community into our new space and share the story behind the work we do for the Veterans we proudly serve,” said Jeff Staads, Executive Director of Sofas for Service. “This warehouse is more than just storage—it’s a symbol of hope, compassion, and service.”
