A man sentenced to four years in prison for setting fires on other people’s land will also have to send apology letters to the DNR and the landowners.
Prosecutors accuse 46-year-old Daniel P. Johnson of setting more than 50 fires in 2023, including some that grew to more than a dozen acres. Johnson initially faced eight charges, and pleaded guilty to three as part of a plea deal. Along with his prison time, he’ll have to pay four-thousand dollars and write several apology letters.
