A bond hearing is scheduled today for an Indian man accused of financially victimizing an elderly Rusk County resident.
Authorities say that Miteshkumar Chaudhari was involved in a scam in which the victim was financially exploited via fraudulent threats delivered by phone, email and text. Miteshkumar, who authorities say is in the country illegally, was arrested last week on a list of theft charges. The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office says they have been in contact with ICE regarding Chaudhari.
