A mining company plans to start drilling for copper and gold near Medford.
Green Light Wisconsin tells the state Department of Natural Resources it plans to start drilling next week. The company will drill eight holes on six sites in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest despite concerns from the Lac du Flambeau Tribe. Gold and copper have not been mined in Wisconsin in nearly 30 years.
