Lawyers for Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan are again asking a judge to dismiss the charges against her.
Dugan is facing federal charges after being accused of helping a migrant evade immigration authorities at a courthouse last month. In a Thursday filing, her lawyers cited the recent Supreme Court decision in Trump v. United States, giving presidents absolute immunity for acts committed while in office. They argue “nothing in Trump’s case suggests that judicial immunity is any less broad than presidential immunity.”
