About one-thousand nurses at UnityPoint-Meriter went on strike this morning.
They began picketing outside of the hospital on South Park Street this morning. The strike is set to last five days. They’ve been negotiating with the hospital administration since January. The main sticking points are pay, staffing, and workplace safety.
