Memorial Day Weekend Arrives, Brings Local Events and a Travel Rush

DNR officials say anyone planning to hit the state’s UTV and ATV trails should wear a helmet, and riders under 18 are required to use one by law.  The department adds that those going out on the water should wear a life jacket and avoid using alcohol while operating a boat.

Locally, the Chippewa Valley Veterans Tribute Foundation invites the community to gather in solemn remembrance and celebration during its Memorial Day Ceremony and Legacy Stones Dedication at the Chippewa Valley Veterans Tribute in Altoona’s River Prairie Park on May 26th, 2025. This annual tribute honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States of America.
