Construction Impact Meeting For Downtown Eau Claire Businesses

Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. (DECI) and the City of Eau Claire are inviting business owners in the North Barstow District to attend a meeting to discuss the upcoming downtown street construction and its potential impact on local businesses.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, May 20, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the event space at Menomonie Market Food Co-op, located at 206 N Barstow St. City engineering staff will be on hand to share staging maps, answer questions, and provide updates on the anticipated construction schedule.

The upcoming project affects Madison Street, North Farwell Street, and North Barstow Street, with full closure of North Barstow Street from Madison Street to the river bridge scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 27. The closure is expected to last approximately three weeks, with sidewalk access maintained throughout the construction period.

Free parking will be available in the North Barstow Parking Ramp (303 Galloway Street) beginning Friday, May 23 through project completion to help offset the loss of street parking during construction.

“DECI understands the significant challenges this project may pose for businesses,” said Erin Klaus, Executive Director of DECI. “This meeting is a crucial opportunity for owners and managers to ask questions, express concerns, and explore ways to work with the City of Eau Claire to reduce the impact of construction on downtown commerce.” CLICK HERE FOR MORE.
