At approximately 15:45 on April 29, 2025 the Rice Lake Fire Department was dispatched to a reported house fire at 20 Reuter Avenue in the City of Rice Lake.
The first fire department unit arrived at 15:47 to find a 2-story residential home, with smoke showing from the west side of the roof eves. Firefighters utilized a 1 ¾” attack line to perform an interior attack of a fire that was located in a bedroom on the second floor of the home. The fire was under control at 1605. Additional firefighters were used for ventilation and overhaul after the fire was extinguished. The fire was contained in the room of origin with smoke and water damage throughout the home.
All fire units were placed back in service at 18:12.
The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
An initial damage estimate for the structure and contents is placed at $125,000.
The home was occupied at the time of the fire. All occupants were able to evacuate prior to first arriving emergency personal.
There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.
18 firefighters from the Rice Lake Fire Department were utilized during the incident.
Two engines, one Aerial ladder, two Ambulances, one Command Unit, and one Utility vehicle responded to the scene.
In addition to the response by the Rice Lake Fire Department, Marshfield Medical Center provided a paramedic unit for standby. Rice Lake Utilities was also on scene to control electrical power. Rice Lake Police Officers provided traffic and scene control.
