Deputies in both Eau Claire and Dunn counties are warning people of a deputy scam going on.
Authorities in those counties have been getting calls about a scam saying that you have unpaid tickets. They ask that you pay them right away on the phone call or through cash apps. Police have gotten calls in Eau Claire County saying that the scammers are using the name Deputy Collins. If you do receive on of these calls, hang up and contact local authorities. Police will never ask you to pay a ticket over the phone or though apps.
