On Monday, April 14, 2025, at 11:54pm, the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fully engulfed residential structure fire on CTH X in the Township of Ludington. Additional information given was that one of the residents had not been able to escape the residence.
Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with the other residents as well as neighbors. Deputies also assisted Fire & EMS personnel and provided traffic control.
A 73-year male was later located deceased inside the residence. Three other residents were transported by paramedics to an area hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
The fire is still under investigation and more information will be provided at a later date.
