Crews were on scene of a Silo Fire at Forte Opening Solutions, 1401 East 4th St. in Marshfield.
On Thursday, March 28th the Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department was dispatched to Forte Opening Solutions, 1401 East 4th Street for smoke and smoldering material. Engine 3, Engine 1, Truck 1 and Ambulance 98 responded with nine personnel.
Upon arrival employees had evacuated and maintenance personnel stated that a bearing overheated causing their manufacturing material to start on fire on top of a silo. Crews accessed the silo with the aerial device from Truck 1. Access was made to the silo and an auger where numerous hotspots were located. Water from Truck 1 and the facilities deluge system was used to the extinguish the hotspots and prevent further extension. Personnel were on scene for approximately 1.25 hours.
