Almost six years after it happened, a standoff involving an Eau Claire County SWA Team and a Clear Creek man has been settled.
The incident happened in April, 2019, when police say a man called them to say his roommate — Paul Vender Wegen — was drunk and pointed a gun at him. Police say they arrested Vander Wegen after an hour-and-a-half standoff. Yesterday, Vander Wegen pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 120 days in jail.
