A father and son managed to escape a burning pickup truck while it was still in motion.
The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office reported that Edmund and Brandon Fernholz were driving on County Road BB late Sunday when smoke and flames began to emerge from the front of their truck. Brandon, who was driving, pulled over to let both exit the vehicle, but he was unable to shift it into park, and the truck rolled into a wooded area. Firefighters quickly arrived to extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to the surrounding woods. Edmund sustained only minor injuries.
