On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 22600 block of Krueger Rd., Township of Bridge Creek for a reported vehicle vs. train crash.
Due to the nature of the crash, Fairchild Police Department was requested to assist. Upon arrival of first responders, the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was located on scene and did not report any injuries. Contact was made with the train crew as well and no injuries were reported. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing by both the Sheriff’s Office and the Union Pacific Railroad.
The preliminary investigation shows the vehicle towing a trailer with equipment, failed to yield to the oncoming train.
