The Department of Justice is launching an investigation into an officer involved shooting in Fond du Lac.
The Wisconsin DOJ says deputies were trying to execute a felony warrant last night, when they saw the suspect had what appeared to be a gun in their waistband. Responders say the suspect refused to follow commands, so one deputy used a non-lethal weapon. The suspect then pulled what deputies believed to be a firearm, so another deputy fired at the suspect. They were taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. No other injuries are reported.
