The Committee on Finance and Budget members are contemplating renovations at the Eau Claire County Government Center.
This would make security on the second floor safer. Right now, if an inmate must go to court in branches four or five, which are on the other side of the facility, they would need to be walked down a public hallway. Officials say this can present a “danger to families and witnesses.” If this can get approved, a design would take three to six months and construction would take six to nine months.
