Governor Tony Evers and state Attorney General Josh Kaul are signing onto a new lawsuit against the Trump Administration over sweeping cuts to medical research funding.
The Wisconsin leaders joined officials from 21 other states yesterday in filing the litigation following the announcement from the National Institutes of Health that all indirect research cost reimbursements would be cut to 15 percent. Administrators with UW-Madison say Trump’s move is disrupting research into treatment and cures for serious and chronic illnesses at their institutions and many others across the country. The lawsuit claims the funding cuts violate existing laws around NIH payouts.
