The Chippewa Falls Police Department is warning residents about a phone scam.
They say people are getting calls from someone claiming to be a detective with CFPD. The scammer will tell the person they called that they’ve missed a jury duty date and will need to give personal information to fix the situation. Police said if you receive a call like this to hang up immediately and report the call to CFPD. Authorities say they’ll never call and request personal information like a social security number, bank account details, or credit card information.
