One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Chippewa County.
According to a press release from the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, it happened on Saturday just before 5 a.m. in the Town of Lafayette. After an investigation, authority determined that the car went off the roadway and traveled about 200 feet before crashing into a tree. They believe the driver died due to their injuries from the crash. The driver, 73-year-old Barry Lancette, was pronounced dead at the scene.
