Senator Ron Johnson is again pushing a federal measure that would lay out a legal definition for natural cheese.
The Wisconsin Republican re-introduced the Codifying Useful Regulatory Definitions, or CURD, Act earlier this week. The bill puts specific language to the term “natural cheese” to make an official distinction between traditional cheese products and those that are processed foods. Wisconsin Democrat Senator Tammy Baldwin is supporting the act as well.
