The Wisconsin Innocence Project is getting federal funding to help cover DNA testing for people who may have been wrongly convicted.
The U.S. Justice Department is approving a grant worth one-and-a-half-million dollars for the organization. The nonprofit is planning to use the money to revisit previous cases that were closed due to the limitations of genetics testing in the past. They will also be hiring a new investigator and two additional attorneys.
