On January 2, 2025, an unknown white male, who was wearing a neck brace, tried to cash a check at Johnson Bank in Rice Lake.

The subject also presented a driver’s license out of Minnesota and a social security card both matching the name on the check. The initials for the male from the drivers license were C.S. The bank tellers stated that the subject in the vehicle was not the same person as the driver’s license and they refused to cash the check and the subject left the bank. The tellers stated the vehicle the subject was in was a Subaru and believed the model was a Legacy. They stated the vehicle didn’t have a front or back plate. Due to the angle of the cameras at the bank, we do not have a picture of the subject, just the above photos of the vehicle provided by officials.
Johnson Bank and the victim are not out any money at this time. The victim’s stated the check was in their mailbox for outgoing mail. If anyone has similar incidents please reach out to Inv. Bohl at 715-736-0628 in an attempt to identify the subject.
