More than two dozen “belly plungers” are thawing out after helping to raise over ten-thousand-dollars for the Dane and Merrimac volunteer fire departments.
The second annual “Beer Belly Plunge” at Lucky’s on the Lake Wisconsin took place on Saturday. Organizers said 27 people took the plunge into the lake, which is around the same number as last year’s inaugural event. Money was also raised from sponsors and a meat raffle. Event host Lucky’s Bar and Grille on the Lake donated ten-percent of morning and afternoon sales. Crews from both fire departments were on hand to ensure the plungers’ safety.
