Victim Identified in EC County Crash

On 1/14/2025 the Eau Claire Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a local hospital and advised that the
passenger in the northbound vehicle had died from their injuries sustained in the crash. This individual is
identified as 69-year-old George D. King from Fall Creek, WI. George was a passenger in the vehicle
being operated by his wife, Carol King.
The driver of the vehicle that was westbound on CTH N is identified as Blaine Howard from Fairchild,
WI.
Blaine Howard was cited for the following violations:
346.89(1) Inattentive driving
346.18(3) Fail/Yield Right/Way From Stop Sign (Resulting Death)

On Friday, 01/10/2025, at approximately 11:06 AM, the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Hwy 27 and CTH N, in the Township of Ludington, for a two-vehicle crash.

Initial investigation shows that a vehicle traveling westbound on CTH N failed to stop for the stop sign and collided with a vehicle traveling northbound on Hwy 27.  The driver of the vehicle traveling westbound was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the northbound vehicle was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger in the same northbound vehicle was transported to the hospital for serious life-threatening injuries.  

No further information is being released at this time.   

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Augusta Police, Wisconsin State Patrol, Fall Creek Fire, Fall Creek Rescue, Augusta Fire, Medic 9 and Medic 6 from Eau Claire Fire and Mayo Ambulance.
