Respiratory Illness On Rise, Restrictions Considered

Many Wisconsin hospitals are looking at visitor restrictions and other mandates as high respiratory illness numbers impact the state.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 20 percent of emergency room visits were tied to infections like the flu, RSV, and COVID-19 during the third week of December.  Aurora Health Care is requiring visitors to wear masks at their facilities starting on January 6th.  Hospital Sisters Health System is limiting patients to two visitors at a time and they are asking people who have cold or flu symptoms to avoid coming to see loved ones.
