Wisconsin’s governor says he won’t send National Guard troops to help deport illegal immigrants in President Trump’s second term.
Governor Tony Evers yesterday told reporters in Madison that he doesn’t support the new president’s plan to deport people who are in this country illegally. Evers said he can ‘guarantee’ that the Wisconsin National Guard won’t be used in any deportation enforcement. The governor said he’d rather see Congress find a way to ‘fix’ the country’s immigration system. President-elect Trump has said he intends to start deporting illegal immigrants on his first day in January.
