The Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild Unwraps a Show: The Holly and The Ivy 

It’s Christmas eve at The Ivy Inn. Holly and Scott are about to be married, but the groom is struggling to believe in the spirit of Christmas. Will he find it before the ceremony or will it find him? Don’t miss this hilarious comedy – perfect for the season.

Written and directed by Mike Cook, this holiday comedy is a fundraiser for the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild.

Mike Cook (Writer/Director) is dedicating this show to Don Hodgins and his late wife, Lois, as a thank you and tribute to their friendship, mentorship, and their dedication to making quality, professional, and entertaining theatre in Western Wisconsin. Don and Lois ran Fanny Hill Dinner Theatre for 35 years. Lois also served on the CVTG Board of Directors.  In 34 years with Fanny Hill, Mike performed in 60 shows and 3000+ performances. Favorite roles included Senex in A “Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” Colonel Pickering in “My Fair lady,” Albert Soady in “Escanaba in the Moonlight,” the 20 characters he played in the “Tuna” series, and roles in Christmas shows written by Don.

Keevin Peuse (John Hansen) graced the Fanny Hill stage for two decades in numerous shows, starting with “It’s a Mystery to Me,” and including “My Fair Lady,” South Pacific,” The Odd Couple,” “Out of Order,” “Caught in the Net,” and the the final Christmas show, “A Carol of a Christmas” in 2013-14 alongside Mike Cook. 

Derek Brehm (Tech) joined Fanny Hill in 1996 playing Artie in the production of “Lost in Younkers,” later performing in “Out of Order” – the longest running production at Fanny Hill. After graduating from UWEC with a theatre degree, Derek was hired as their full-time Production Manager and from 2008 until the closing of The Hill, he was often seen working behind the bar and in the audience.
