Wisconsin’s state superintendent is asking for more than three-billion dollars in state public school funding.
Superintendent Doctor Jill Underly says her proposal includes state reimbursements for special education, increased per-pupil aid, and limits to property tax increases. She announced her budget proposal at a conference at Conrad Elvehjem Primary School in McFarland today. Underly also recently requested more than 300-million dollars to pay for meals for all Wisconsin students and another 300-million for youth mental health.
