A 13-year-old boy who was arrested at a Kenosha elementary school Thursday morning is facing charges of making terroristic threats.
Kenosha Police originally said security video from Roosevelt Elementary School showed the suspect holding what they believed was a firearm, entering the school through the front door after reportedly trying other doors, then fleeing after he was approached by school officials. He surrendered to police Thursday afternoon. A search warrant of his home found replicas of firearms, but no actual firearms. Police say the teen had “performed multiple internet searches related to school shootings” prior to Thursday and that he told a social worker “he went to the school with the intent to scare students.” The teen, who was formally charged on Friday, is identified as a former Roosevelt Elementary student who now attends Mahone Middle School.
