It’s Here: Election Day 2024

It’s here. Election Day 2024 is upon us.

More than a million-and-a-half people have already voted in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Elections Commission yesterday said the early vote total includes 950 thousand people who voted in-person this year. Wisconsin’s early vote numbers are far below 2020’s numbers, but that early vote was skewed by COVID. The Elections Commission says this year’s numbers are better than 2012 and 2016. The Commission says mail-in votes are still coming-in, so that total likely won’t be finalized until after all of the ballots are counted. Voting resumes today. The polls are open from 7 a.m. til 8 p.m. CLICK FOR MORE.

We may not know much when we wake up tomorrow as the winner of the tight race between former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris may not be known for days.

Each state handles its elections differently, and closing times for polls are staggered. And in the areas with the most votes, the more populous urban areas, counting votes takes longer. In 2020, most news outlets did not declare Joe Biden the winner until November 7th, four days after Election Day.
