Traffic Stop Leads to 6th OWI for EC Man

Mark Robert Clark, 63 years of age, from Eau Claire WI has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol Eau Claire Post for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 6th offense. 

On November 1st, 2024, at approximately 2:33 pm, a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation on US Highway 53 near the River Prairie Drive exit in Altoona. 

The Trooper observed that the driver, Mark Clark, showed signs of impairment. A subsequent investigation, including standardized field sobriety testing, showed that Mr. Clark was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance. 

Mr. Clark was subsequently arrested and charged with operating while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance-6th offense, operating a motor vehicle while suspended, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. Charges for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of stolen property were also referred to the District Attorney’s Office. Mr. Clark was transported to a local hospital for an evidentiary test of his blood and then turned over to the Eau Claire County Jail.
