Chase Leads to Arrest for Black River Falls Man

On Saturday, October 19, 2024 at about 5:50 PM, the Fairchild Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a person later identified as Kegan C Fogleson of Black River Falls. Fogleson immediately fled and a pursuit occurred in the Townships of Cleveland and Fairchild and the Village of Fairchild. During the pursuit, it was learned that Fogleson had a felony warrant for his arrest and he had caution indicators for violent tendencies.

Fogleson drove at 70 mph in a residential area and threw items during the pursuit to attempt to strike the squad and physically rammed the squad an estimated five times during the pursuit. Fogleson stopped at an intersection, got out and presented and threw a hatchet-like object at the squad before again attempting to flee. Fogleson eventually fled into a residence and locked himself inside. He agreed to surrender with the promise of being able to smoke a couple of cigarettes.

Fogleson has a long criminal history with a number of violent offenses, including at least two prior convictions for fleeing in a pursuit much like the one that occurred in Fairchild. He was taken into custody and transported to the Eau Claire County Jail where he has been charged with Felony Operator Knowingly Fleeing/Eluding, Felony Reckless Endangerment, Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle, Obstructing/Resisting, Felony Bail Jumping, and a felony arrest warrant from Dodge County.
