Bucks for Buckyland: WI Budget Surplus in Billions

Wisconsin’s budget surplus is over four-and-a-half billion-dollars.

The state’s Department of Revenue released its latest figure yesterday. The final numbers show Wisconsin has four-point-six billion-dollars more than it spent. The state also has nearly two billion-dollars in its rainy day fund. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said the extra money should be reinvested in his next budget. Republican lawmakers, however, have said in the past that they want to give the money back to the people of Wisconsin.
