A large fire started early this morning at a facility on French Island, near La Crosse.
Crews are fighting the fire at Tie Yard of Omaha on Bainbridge Road. Nebraska-based company Omaha Track operates the facility, which processes scrap railroad ties and other materials. Smoke from the fire is visible for miles.
