West Nile Case Confirmed in WI

Wisconsin’s seventh case of the West Nile Virus this year has been confirmed. 

State health officials confirmed a case in a Rock County resident today.  It marks the first human case in Rock County so far this year.  The health department notes that most people who get West Nile Virus don’t get sick from it, but urge people to take precautions including reducing their exposure to mosquitos.  Less than one-percent of people who contract West Nile Virus develop serious symptoms.
