WI Weekend Football: Love Hurt, Bucky Wins

Packers quarterback Jordan Love is reportedly expected to miss at least three-to-four weeks following Friday night’s injury.

ESPN reports that Jordan Love suffered an MCL sprain during Friday night’s season-opening loss to the Eagles in Brazil.  Love will undergo more testing and Green Bay hopes the injury will only last three-to-four weeks.  The 25-year-old got hurt with just six seconds left in the game when he got taken down by a pair of Philly pass rushers.  Newly acquired QB Malik Willis took the final two snaps of the game.  Love threw for more than 4,100 yards to go with 32 touchdowns and 11 picks last season.

On the other hand, the Badgers improve to 2-0 following Saturday’s 27-13 win Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium.

Chez Mellusi rushed for a touchdown less than three minutes into the game and added an insurance touchdown midway through the fourth quarter.  The Badgers have their work cut out for them next weekend as they host fourth-ranked Alabama.  The meeting is only the third between the two teams.  The Crimson Tide won the last meeting in 2015, while Wisconsin won the first meeting all the way back in 1928.  Kickoff is Saturday at 11 a.m. and the game is sold out.
