The Eau Claire Fire Department responded to a structure fire Saturday afternoon on the North side.
Engine 10 and Medic 10 arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the basement of the residence. An aggressive interior fire attack was initiated and the fire was quickly located and extinguished while additional crews performed searches and ventilated smoke in the basement. Fire damage was contained to the basement but the entire structure sustained smoke damage.
No injuries were reported at the time of this report.
