West Nile Deaths Confirmed

Wisconsin’s first West Nile deaths are from Brown and Fond du Lac counties.

The state’s Department of Health Services reported two deaths yesterday. DHS says a man in his 50s from Brown County, and a man in his 70s from Fond du Lac county died. DHS says a woman in her 80s from Outagamie County is in the hospital, The deaths are the first in Wisconsin so far this year. This is the time of year when human cases of West Nile peak. Public health managers say more people are out and about at dusk when mosquitoes are their most active.
