President Biden told the Democratic National Convention he’s not mad at Democrats who said he should drop out of the race. Speaking to the Delegates in Chicago Monday night, Biden said it was the honor of his lifetime to be President.
He told the crowd he loves America, and he did his best for the country.

Both Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance will hold rallies today. Harris is set to speak in Milwaukee with her VP pick, Tim Walz. Meanwhile, Vance will rally with Republicans in Kenosha. The latest Marquette Law School Poll shows the race in Wisconsin between Harris and former President Trump is essentially tied.
On the state level, Wisconsin’s Lieutenant Governor is raising her national profile. Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez was one of several ‘lite gov’s’ who spoke at yesterday’s first day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Rodriguez, who is a nurse, spoke about the Democrats’ push to save the Affordable Care Act and to protect abortion access. Rodriguez told the crowd there is a decision to make about making healthcare choices.
Here locally, Eau Claire says Kamala Harris has paid her bill. The city yesterday said Harris’ campaign paid the 16 thousand-dollar bill for police protection from her last week. Eau Claire is now working under a new set of rules that require private venues, like the one Harris used for her rally, to charge for police protection up front.
Eau Claire says there wasn’t a cost for JD Vance’s visit last week because he used a smaller venue that didn’t require any extra police protection.
