Thompson Takes the Wheel, New Role at UW Madison

Wisconsin’s former transportation secretary is now working at UW Madison.

The university on Friday said Craig Thompson is taking over as vice chancellor for university relations. Thompson served as transportation secretary under Governor Evers, he retired earlier this year. Before his job under the governor, Thompson worked at the Wisconsin Counties Association, and several other transportation and government related jobs. Part of his job as vice chancellor for university relations will be to work with the Wisconsin legislature on the university’s needs. UW-Madison Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin says Thompson brings energy, and a vital network of connections to the school.
