Add Jefferson County to the list of Wisconsin communities with a Narcan vending machine.
The county’s public health department opened its vending machine over the weekend. The machine offers Narcan, fentanyl test strips, and other needs for people who are dealing with drug addiction. The machine is the first in the area and is outside of the county’s health department. Jefferson County Board of Health Member Jessica Coburn says the vending machines are becoming more common and more accepted because of the number of people who are using drugs in Wisconsin.
The hope is to help people struggling with addiction and avoid fentanyl-related overdoses.
