Harris to Meet with Teamsters Union, Democratic Ticket to Visit WI

The Kamala Harris campaign is confirming running mate Tim Walz will join her in Milwaukee on Tuesday.  The two will appear at a rally at Fiserv Forum, the site of last month’s Republican National Convention.  This will be Harris’ third Wisconsin visit as the Democratic presidential nominee and her second with Walz.  Their visit takes place during day two of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

Continuing with political upates, The Teamsters Union says Vice President Kamala Harris has accepted its offer to meet with union leaders for a round-table discussion.  A date has yet to be scheduled for the meeting with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, a union with around one-point-three million members.

Harris has attempted to gain support from unions, a crucial voting bloc in battleground states including Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.  The teamsters, which endorsed President Biden in 2020, have not endorsed a presidential candidate in this election.

A Teamsters spokeswoman in a statement on Friday, “We look forward to Vice President Harris joining a round-table of rank-and-file Teamsters to discuss the issues of importance to workers.”
