Dispersed camping will not be allowed at Eau Claire County Forest for the next two months.
The Eau Claire County Committee on Parks and Forest has approved a temporary ban on all dispersed camping within the Eau Claire County Forest starting tomorrow Friday August 16th – Tuesday October 15th. This means you cannot purchase a County Forest Camping Permit.
If you are interested in camping during that time frame, they are recommending other options such as Coon Fork Campground or Harstad Campground.
Again this is a temporary ban on dispersed forest camping ONLY. Activities such as hiking, fishing, and hunting are still permitted, and campers can purchase ten-dollar permits and camp anywhere in the 50-thousand acre forest. Dispersed camping will be allowed again starting on October 15th.
