Suspect Identified in Lake Hallie Vehicle Thefts

Authorities in Lake Hallie have an update after a string of vehicle thefts.

Between June 27th and August 6, 2024, there were multiple vehicle thefts and thefts from  vehicles that occurred in neighborhoods throughout the Village of Lake Hallie.

One of those  vehicle thefts resulted in a short vehicle pursuit on July 27, 2024. On August 8, 2024,  investigators identified a suspect based on information obtained from Crime Stoppers and the  Chippewa Falls Police Department. On August 14, 2024, a Lake Hallie Police Detective and  Lake Hallie Police Officer interviewed the suspect, a juvenile male, who confessed to four  vehicle thefts, a vehicle/boat theft, and two thefts from vehicles. All vehicles and the boat were recovered and returned to their respective owners.  

The juvenile is being referred to Chippewa County Juvenile Intake for the following charges:  felony Knowingly Fleeing an officer, two felony counts of Operating a Motor Vehicle without  owner’s consent causing damage; two misdemeanor counts of theft from vehicle; two  misdemeanor counts of Operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent – abandoned in 24  hours with no damage and one count of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
