Voters head to the polls across Wisconsin today.
Voters across the state will see a pair of constitutional amendments that would give state lawmakers some say in how billions of dollars in federal money are spent. Currently, the governor is the only one who can decide how that money is spent.
Nearly 300 thousand people in Wisconsin have already voted in today’s election. Wisconsin Elections Commission administrator Meagan Wolfe said, as of yesterday, over 288 thousand people voted early. This is the first election since 2022 where voters can use ballot drop boxes.
Wolfe said in the spring primary of 2022, 27 percent of voters cast a ballot and we will know in the coming days how this primary compares to those numbers.
